What is the Monolith of Fate

The Monolith of Fate consists of multiple bigger structures, called Timelines. Each Timeline consists of a randomly generated web of Echos. Each island within this web represents an individual echo, offering unique modifiers and rewards

How to Access the Monolith of Fate

After a certain point in the campaign, players can reach "The End of Time". A portal on the East side leads you to the Monolith of Fate.

Timelines

Timelines are the core of the Monolith of Fate. These Timelines can be stabilized by exploring them and completing objectives. Each Timeline is unique in its own way, has its own quest line, and final boss.

By completing certain Timelines, other connected Timelines will be unlocked. On completion of the 3 level 90 Timelines (The Last Ruin, The Age of Winter, and Spirits of Fire) will unlock Empowered (Legendary) Timelines. These are level 100 versions of the Timeline with higher difficulty and better rewards.

Echoes

Timeline Echoes

When you branch out further from the starting points, other types of Echoes start spawning.

Beacon Echo0.364
Vessel of Chaos Echo0.110
Vessel of Memory Echo0.111
Echo of a World (Shade of Orobyss)-11 (guaranteed at 19)

Each Echo has its own objective, usually killing a boss or destroying a spire. More rare echoes can have special objectives. The rare echoes are summarized below.

Echos grant modifiers to enemies, these modifiers depend on the Timeline you're in and can accumulate over multiple Echoes.

Arena Echo

The Arena Echo incorporates the Arena of Champions into the Monolith. This uncommon encounter will feature 12 to 18 waves of enemies to beat. The Arena Echo starts to appear after 3 echoes from the center.

Beacon of Light

When viewing your Timeline's Echoes, you can view the echoes adjacent to the completed one, and the ones directly beyond those. When you complete a Beacon Echo, you will be able to view the Echoes within a large radius of the charged Beacon.

This Echo is quite rare (about 3 times as rare as the Arena Echo) and only appears after 4 echoes from the center.

Vessel of Memory

Vessel of Memory

A Vessel of Memory Echo is a very rare encounter that resets all echoes when you smash the Vessel of Memory. Normally when you complete an Echo, you cannot return to it. This special Echo allows you to return to previously completed Echoes and claim their rewards again.

This Echo is very rare (about 10 times as rare as the Beacon Echo) and only appears after 11 echoes from the center.

Vessel of Chaos

Vessel of Chaos

A Vessel of Chaos Echo is similar to a Vessel of Memory and also alters the Echoes in your Timeline. When you smash a Vessel of Chaos, the rewards of all Echoes that you haven't completed yet are rerolled. This is a very interesting Echo, as you will usually skip some Echoes that have less interesting rewards.

This Echo is very rare (about 10 times as rare as the Beacon Echo) and only appears after 10 echoes from the center.

Quest Echoes

Once the Timeline gains enough Stability, these Quest Echoes can be attempted. These epcial Echoes tell the story of the Timeline and progresses the Timeline to completion.

Echo of a World

This special type of Echo starts appearing at distance 11. When you reach a distance of 19 echoes, all surrounding Echoes will be Echoes of a World.

The Echo contains a mini boss, the Shade of Orobyss, more on that down below.

Stability

Completing the Echo objective will grant you the minimum Stability for that Echo. You can earn additional Stability by killing enemies in the Echo. Stabilty per Echo also increases the furter you are removed from the center.

When you reach certain Stability Thresholds, Quest Echoes will unlock, progressing your Timeline.

Corruption

When you complete an Echo, the Timeline's Corruption level will increase. Higher Corruption levels make enemies tougher, enhancing their health and damage output, but also increases item rarity.

There also exists a catch-up mechanic to increase Corruption in other Timelines. While the Corruption level of your current Timeline is lower than the highest Corruption level of any Timeline, the Shade of Orobyss will grant Bonus Corruption to the current Timeline.

Normal Timelines are capped at 50 Corruption, while Empowered Timelines start at Corruption level 100 and can be increased indefinitely.

Shade of Orobyss

The Shade of Orobyss is a randomised boss with 30 unique skills, that you can encounter in a Shade Echo. Defeating the Shade will reset the Timeline and add Corruption.

Defeating the Shade will always change your Corruption level. Though, at a certain Corruption level, defeating the Shade closer to the center of your web, will reduce the Corruption.

Blessings

Blessing Selection
Blessing Selection

After defeating the end boss, conquering the Timeline, you are presented with a selection of Blessings. You can pick one of those Blessings to be active for that Timeline, meaning you can have at most 10 Blessings active at any given time, one for each Timeline.

The amount of Blessings that you can pick from depends on your Corruption and the type of Timeline.

RequirementAmount of Blessings

Empowered Timeline4
+200 Corruption5

The Blessings that can appear as options, depend on the Timeline itself. Each Timeline has its own Blessings pool it picks from. The power roll is selected randomly, however Empowered Timelines grant "Grand" versions of the Blessing, which have a higher power range.

Note that Blessings persist beyond the Timeline and the Monolith of Fate and are also active outside the Monolith.
