A Dive into Diablo IV's New Season of the Infernal Hordes
Season 5 Begins August 6
Blizzard has brought the fiery depths of Hell back to life in Diablo IV's latest season, "Infernal Hordes." This season is packed with exciting features and intense challenges, immersing players in the ultimate battle against demonic forces.
Returning to Hell
The new season continues the story from Diablo IV’s endgame cinematic, where Prava and Inarius take the fight to Hell. This sets the stage for players to return to Hell and face increasing demonic threats, capturing the intense experience of battling the Infernal Hordes.
Helltides and Sanctuary
Players familiar with Helltides know these events bring demonic activity into Sanctuary. Recently, these Helltides have become more intense, hinting at Hell’s growing power. This season explores the state of Sanctuary, the fate of Mephisto, and the demons' plans, leading players to discover dark secrets with unexpected allies.
The Infernal Hordes Mode
The core feature of the new season is the Infernal Hordes, a wave-based endgame activity where players face waves of demonic forces. This mode is designed for both solo players and multiplayer parties. Players will deal with escalating threats like meteor strikes while fighting through waves.
A unique aspect of this mode is the Infernal Offers. Between waves, players choose from three offers that give both benefits and drawbacks, adding strategy to the gameplay. This element of temptation from the Fell Council allows players to balance power gains with potential consequences.
Diverse Enemies and Replayability
Blizzard has focused on replayability, introducing a wide variety of enemies. Players will encounter traditional demons and unexpected foes like Goatmen and fallen soldiers from the Cathedral of Light. This variety ensures every encounter feels fresh and challenging.

The Fell Council: A Dynamic Boss Fight
At the climax of the Infernal Hordes, players face the Fell Council, a group of corrupted priests from Diablo II with new powers. This boss fight offers ten different combinations of Council members, ensuring each encounter is unique.
Rewards: Spoils of Hell
Defeating the Fell Council grants access to the Spoils of Hell, where players can use Burning Aether to open chests filled with new Uniques, Legendaries, and Rare materials. These items, forged in Hell, have unique looks, effects, and powers, enhancing gameplay and cosmetic customization.
