At release, players were able to obtain a significant amount of experience while killing certain bosses with the unique equipped. This was fixed later in a hotfix.

Your Subterfuge Skills create an attackable Shade Totem for [3.0 - 8.0] seconds. Any base damage it takes is replicated onto surrounding enemies at 20% effectiveness. This effect is treated as a Trap Skill. You may only have 1 |4Shade Totem:Shade Totems; active at a time.
